Quintana Roo first place in Mexico for job generation

Cancun, Q.R. — The state of Quintana Roo takes first place in the country for job generation, says figures from the Mexican Social Security Institute.

Quintana Roo occupies first place in employment generation for 2017, with 10.5 percent, double the national average of 4.5 percent. This, according to the figures released by the Mexican Social Security Institute.

“In the third quarter of this year, Quintana Roo registered 41,194 formal jobs being generated. This figure represent 9,036 more than in the same period of the previous year,” said Governor Carlos Joaquin .

The governor of Quintana Roo noted that in the second quarter of 2017, Quintana Roo had already registered 32,426 formal jobs against the 26,990 registered in 2016.

“We are moving in the right direction, correcting the course of Quintana Roo so that people over 40 years of age will have a job, which in the past they did not get,” said Carlos Joaquín.

“Through credit, women also improve their economy and generate work by strengthening or opening new businesses,” he said. Although the process is slow, together we can make it possible for the commitments made to people to become a reality, he noted.

The figures were released during a recent event hosted by President Enrique Peña Nieto at la Residencia oficial de los Pinos in Mexico City.
