Puerto Morelos, Q.R. – Puerto Morelos remains a favorite destination with tourists as the town’s hotel occupancy continues to average more than 90 percent.
The more than 5,000 rooms throughout the municipality continue to be occupied by both North American and domestic travelers who favor the region for its tranquility and quaintness.
Municipal president Laura Fernández Piña explained, “We have more long weekends, which continue to help hotel occupancy maintain its best record in recent years, with 96 percent average in large lodging centers.”
She pointed out that the tourists arrive to the destination due to its 18 kilometers of beaches, complemented by the cenote routes, its gastronomy and culture, as well as the historical communities of Leona Vicario and Central Vallarta. The area has become a magnet for tourism, which to a large degree, she says, is repetitive.
The Municipal President said that they continue to promote the destination in tourist fairs both in Mexico and abroad, to encourage tourism as part of the Municipal Development Plan 2016-2018.
“Puerto Morelos has, as its great advantage, its own identity which is distinct from the other places that surround it,” she added.
“Our Puerto Morelos is already on the national and international level as a brand, which complements the tourism offerings of Quintana Roo by offering a great variety of possible ways to spend an unforgettable vacation.”
