Cancun, Q.R. – Living in the state of Quintana Roo just became more expensive as the price of LPG increases yet again.
Already the most expensive in the country, residents of the state are expected to shell out even more to refill their gas tanks. Over the past two months alone the price to refill a 20 kilo tank has risen 41 peso.
By the end of the year, it’s expected to cost 353 peso to fill a 20 kilo tank, an increase from the current 348 peso. At the end of 2016, a 20 kilo tank was 289 peso.
The Energy Regulatory Commission points out that gas prices in the state is of the highest in the country along with Baja California Sur.
The continual climb in the price of electricity for the region has seen some restaurants in Cancun and Riviera Maya increase their menu prices by as much as 10 percent. This latest LPG increase could see an additional increase in menu prices.
