Police arrest Cancun pair for car washer murder

Cancun, Q.R. — Two men have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a deadly shooting that took place in Cancun Wednesday.

The two men, identified as Jesus N and Abenabar N, were arrested from a taxi for being those responsible for the shooting death against a man in SM 107 of Cancun Wednesday morning. The shooting also resulted in the injury of a female passerby. She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office says the pair are under investigation since one of them was found carrying a firearm that could be related to other criminal acts. They also report that Abenabar N has a criminal history of violent robberies.

Police intercepted their taxi on Lakin Avenue and took them into custody for their alleged involvement in the death of 27-year-old Victor Manuel S.B., who was a combi (vehicle) washer. During the shooting, 36-year-old Juana C.P. was hit by a stray bullet and taken to hospital.
