Playa del Carmen police rescue minor from women in forced prostitution

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Three women have been arrested and charged with the trafficking of a minor after emergency services received a 911 call. The anonymous caller said a minor in a Playa del Carmen hotel room was being forced to provide sexual services in exchange for money.

When police arrived, they found three women and a minor in a hotel room, who said that she was forced to provide sexual services in various places in the municipality of Solidaridad. The three women were arrested.

Personnel from the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office says after the November 27 arrest of the women accused of trafficking, they have been formally charged with the crime after a judge found them linked.

The FGE reports Maresa C, Karla A and Bianca L have been linked to the proceedings for their probable participation in the crime of trafficking people in the form of prostitution.

All three will remain in preventative detention during their legal process.
