Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen has officially opened its first nursing school where specialized medical staff are trained.
Municipal Treasurer of Solidarity, Asunción Ramírez Castillo, attended the inauguration of the Ignacio Chavez School of Nursing. He said, “At the moment, we have several free medical units for people who depend on the municipality for services. Our priority is to respond to people with pressing issues such as health, therefore, in these spaces we have personnel trained in specialties such as gynecology, obstetrics, nutrition, dentistry, general medicine, among others.”
He congratulated those responsible for the educational institution, adding that training nurses represents training the most humane part of the medical service. “They are the direct contact between the patients, their relatives and the doctors.”
Amindra Martínez, director general for the new nursing school, thanked authorities as well as students and teachers of the educational center and spoke about the 40 years of combined experience that the school has to offer in preparing nurses.
“We want to serve the community, contributing the knowledge and experience to the recovery of this beautiful destination in which we all live. I am grateful for the support of the municipal authorities with whom we will collaborate with the same objective,” he said.
