Playa del Carmen hotel gets “extra help” before grand reopening

Playa del Carmen, Q.R — A local hotel took to social media to express their gratitude for the “extra help” prior to their grand reopening. The Sandos Caracol in Playa del Carmen shared a video of a group of local spider monkeys entering the main foyer of the hotel.

The first monkey runs in with a broom-in-hand but drops it midway, however, another monkey from the group was not shy about picking it up and dragging it across the floor before losing interest. The hotel posted the video on social media saying “We are glad to have the extra hands helping us have everything ready for tomorrow’s grand reopening!”

The spider monkeys are a common sight among many resorts in and around Playa del Carmen since they roam free, often making an unexpected appearance to explore hotels and other public areas.

The Sandos Caracol Eco Hotel reopened their doors August 1 for tourism after having shut due to the global contingency.
