Bacalar, Q.R. — A woman was killed near Bacalar Sunday night while crossing a road in a wheelchair. The body of the woman was found laying on the road at a pedestrian crossing.
According to preliminary information, the woman was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the road in a marked crosswalk, which is part of the federal highway. Area residents who witnessed the accident tried to help her, but she died on scene.
There was no word on charges. The deceased woman has not been identified.
