Cancun, Q.R. — Construction of a new IMSS hospital will begin in in coming months to serve residents of the northwest part of the city of Cancun.
Flavio Carlos Rosado, delegate of the IMSS in Quintana Roo explained, “The executive project will be ready the first week of November,” adding that “the plans are to start the construction next year because we are in an advanced stage with the change of government.”
With land donated for the hospital in May, the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) will ready to begin building the new facility for Benito Juárez in coming months that once complete, will provide services for nearly 80,000 nearby residents.
Currently, IMSS patients in that area of Cancun receive medical attention from two family units, which are reportedly operating at maximum capacity.
The new hospital will be built in SM 215 in the Héroes subdivision on Felipe Carrillo Puerto Avenue. There was no report on when the construction is expected to be complete or when the new hospital will open.
