No injuries after plane landing Holbox crashes into concrete structure

Holbox, Q.R. — There were no injuries reported after a small plane landing at Holbox crashed into a concrete structure.

The accident happened when the plane, which had arrived from Cancun with five passengers, landed but was unable to stop. The 11:45 a.m. mishap saw the plane crash into a concrete locker room belonging to a neighboring softball field.

The mayor of Holbox, Idalberto Cetina Alcocer said the plane, a Cessna Caravan from the company Ax Transporter, had not experienced any anomalies until its landing at Holbox where it was unable to brake, leaving the compound and crossing onto the softball field located about 100 meters away where it collided with the locker rooms.

Police officers arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. Paramedics were also on scene to assess those on board, who were found to be without injuries.
