Playa del Carmen, Q.R. – A new alternative form of entertainment will be available in the Riviera Maya beginning next year.
A new water park, Cable Wakeboard Park, will open its doors for both locals and tourists in early 2018. The park will consist of three lagoons, two of which will be for water skiing (cable skiing) and the third, reserved for wakeboarding. Cable ski, unlike the wakeboard, is done using an electric cable instead of a boat.
The two cable ski lagoons will have a length of 260 meters and a width between 90 and 130 meters with an elongated island in the center in which the original vegetation will be maintained.
The wakeboard lagoon will have a length of 494 meters and a width of 69 meters with two cables. This lagoon will have two small islands with natural vegetation with an area.
The park will be built at the height of Playa Paraiso in what was once Sonora Ranch along the Federal 307. The waterpark will be surrounded by natural vegetation and landscaped areas along with a central building. The entire project will have an area of 314,000 square meters.
The central building will consist of several areas that include lockers and offices, a pro shop, equipment rental area, restaurant, employee dining room, kitchen and training room.
