Cancun, Q.R. — The new superintendent of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) in the northern zone, Gonzalo Paredes Plancarte, says that they have the go-ahead to resume the construction project of two more substations in Cancún.
Without giving details, he mentioned that the new substations are located by Arco Norte in Cancun, but did not provide any information in regards to an investment amount.
Paredes Plancarte, who was recently appointed from the southern zone, said “We will follow up on the work that is in progress, the electrical networks in the irregular colonies.”
He noted that the changeover to the smart meters is still underway in some regions, adding that he does not know the progress of the project but that it will continue, adding, “Other issues will be looked at as the meters and the illicit ones (energy theft) are changed.”
