Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A new shopping center has opened in Playacar, offering a combination of tourist services and authentic Mexican crafts.
Municipal president, Cristina Torres was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony, after which she toured the new facility.
Located in the community’s Hotel Zone, the newly established Playacar Center is a two-level shopping center with underground parking, escalator and numerous shops and services including restaurants.
Enrique Dominguez Mañueco, general director of Realty Executives Riviera Maya which is in charge of the promotion and commercialization of the project, said that the Playacar Center has a concept that specializes in Mexican products.
“We are working and supporting Mexican companies. Especially the artisans.” He points out that they are anticipating a high influx of tourists for the upcoming season for the 40 established businesses located in the new center. They will also have a lettered “Playa del Carmen” sign for tourists.
