Massive Parque Cancun under discovery by Grupo Xcaret

Cancun, Q.R. — A new park that will cover more than 200 hectares is currently under discovery for the Cancun Hotel Zone.

Carlos Constandse Madrazo, vice president of Grupo Xcaret and president of the board for the new Parque Cancun, says that the project is set for the Cancun Hotel Zone and that work, which could begin this year, will cost around 25 million peso.

Constandse Madrazo says that the project has been an ongoing project for nearly 10 years in the way of consolidation. He explained “We have permits from the Comisión de Áreas Protegidas. We have everything authorized and we are walking very well. That’s what I can tell you,” he said.

The area that will become Parque Cancun is a 243-hectre space located in the Cancun Hotel Zone, however, Constandse Madrazo did not give an exact location or any details about the upcoming park. He only said that during a recent meeting, they met “To discuss the progress, how the permits are coming and it’s going very well,” he added.

“There is talk of an auditorium, a museum, many things, and it is very difficult to say exactly how much it will cost,” he said.

After the meeting, Carlos Díaz Carvajal, director del Instituto Municipal de Desarrollo Urbano del Municipio de Benito Juárez said “It is a long-term project and we hope that soon, more investments will come for 2019. Basically the meeting was an evaluation of how the park was developing.”
