Playa del Carmen, Q.R. – New investment projects for the region of 12 Street are in the process of being put together with a formal announcement being made in the coming weeks.
President of the Bar Association of the Playa del Carmen Tourist Zone, Ricardo Del Valle Prieto, emphasizes that the closure of several establishments in that area were not due to security issues, but were due to an upcoming hotel project.
“We have the case of 12th Street where there has been much misinformation on the subject of places such as La Mezcalinna and Coco Maya. All that area was bought by a very important business group who will develop a tourist complex with a world-class hotel sector, restaurants, bars and clubs.”
In regard to the brand of the new owners, “It comes from one of the best brands in the world.” He says, adding, “They are going to make the presentation in about three more weeks. It will be designed by a great architect with the idea coming from a new image for 12th Street. The fun will continue to flow.”
