Playa del Carmen, Q.R. – An application for a change of land use near Puerto Aventuras has been submitted by a development group.
The builders, Jones and Gribble Corp, recently submitted the environmental impact manifesto to have two hectares of land changed in order to construct a housing project, San Josecito.
The proposed project would be constructed on two hectares of land between Puerto Aventuras and Xpu-Ha. According to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the housing project would see 51 homes built over 51 lots just south of Playa del Carmen.
The Ministry said that “Prior to any activity there will have to be the rescue of all vegetation that has aesthetic, environmental and ecological value and will be located in a nursery specifically intended for the reception and propagation of the rescued species.”
Project promoters say that this is the first stage and will require an estimated 18 million peso.
