Cancún, Q.R. – A new hotel is approved for construction in Cancun’s Puerto Juarez. The new project will be the first in 20 years.
PC Turquesa has obtained the environmental permits for the construction of the first hotel to be built in Puerto Juárez in the last 20 years. The hotel will be La Playa Cancún and consist of 15 levels offering tourists 278 rooms.
According to the Environmental Impact Statement, “The property acquired by the promoter is located in an area with high potential for tourism development within the area known as Puerto Juarez. It has a beach front and ocean view, ideal for sun and beach activities as well as high quality services for domestic and foreign tourists.”
The site of the project is the same one where, for years, the La Playa Residential was previously authorized in terms of environmental impact, but was never carried out. work on clearing and leveling the land was ever started.
Puerto Juárez already has Sea Adventure Resort and Waterpark hotel, as well as a medium-sized water park. Other upcoming projects for that area include RIU Costa Mujeres with 750 rooms, Grand Palladium with 1,050 rooms and hotel Atelier with 500 rooms.
The new La Playa Cancún project is expected to cost 500 million pesos.
