Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — A new project consisting of a tourist complex and marina has been approved for the town of Puerto Aventuras.
The construction of the project Marina Bay Owner Suites and Ventura has been approved after granting the company a change of land use to more than 6,200 square meters. According to the Environmental Impact Statement (MIA) issued by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), the new development will be constructed near a mangrove system.
The development is by Proyectos Integrales SA de CV who will invest approximately 90 million peso and create 50 direct jobs during the span of construction, which is expected to last two years.
Once complete, the Marina Bay Owner Suites and Ventura will consist of a mixed tourist complex with a 12-meter high building of 36 condominium suites with hotel service, restaurant and palapa bar, in addition to parking.
“Based on the identification and evaluation of impacts made for the project, and in accordance with the management programs applicable to it, programs focused on the conservation of natural resources present in the study area and the protection of the environmental system were designed.
“The programs that will be executed for this stage correspond to the Rescue of Flora and Rescue of Fauna . Therefore, for the construction and operation stages, the following will be applied, which are integrated into this MIA,” reads the Environmental Impact Statement.
