National Guard discover two extinguishers filled with methamphetamine

Juárez, Chihuahua — Elements of the National Guard detained a person carrying approximately 10.5 kilos of methamphetamine hidden in fire extinguishers.

The discovery and subsequent arrest took place along the Chihuahua-Ciudad Juárez highway in the state of Chihuahua after the vehicle was stopped for its illegally tinted windows. Upon inspection, officers located two fire extinguishers behind the rear seats, which they detected had been altered.

Officers proceeded to cut open the extinguishers, finding both filled with methamphetamine. The driver was read his rights and his information entered into Mexico’s National Detention Registry upon his arrest.
