Narcotics dog sniffs out marijuana shipment at Cancun airport

Cancun, Q.R. — A package containing 25 kilos of marijuana was detected by a canine sniffer dog at the Cancun International Airport.

The drug bust was the work of Zeno, a narcotics dog who works at the airport with his handler. Zeno was brought out to do his usual duty when he showed interest in a large wooden box. Inside the box were vases that had been filled with marijuana.

The wood crate, which originated from Guadalajara, was bound for a resident of Cancun. The package was confiscated by federal authorities.

The discovery of illegal substances being shipping via the Cancun airport is the work of the government’s new permanent program, Titan, which prevents the trafficking of drugs and other illegal substances or products through packages using courier services.
