Narcotics dog identifies truck carrying 56 kilos of drugs bound for Chetumal

Chetumal, Q.R. — A truck found carrying more than 100 packages of marijuana has been seized by military police along the Chetumal highway.

A truck that was noticed trying to evade police was intercepted by military police along the highway between Chetumal and Escárcega. When stopped, police found 56 kilos of marijuana hidden in a faux bottom inside the vehicle with the help of a narcotics dog.

Through a statement, the federal police reported that members of the Regional Security Division from Operation Escudo Titán, intercepted the vehicle. Upon questioning, the driver appeared nervous which led to a complete inspection of the truck.

They reported that while they were reviewing the vehicle, the narcotics dog provided positive signals to the presence of drugs. Police say they seized 101 packages of marijuana. The drugs, truck and driver were all taken to the PGR facilities in Chetumal.
