Motorcyclist dies in Cancun Hotel Zone after colliding with work truck

Cancun, Q.R. — A man riding a motorcycle in the Cancun Hotel Zone has died after driving into a work vehicle.

The motorcyclist had been driving along Kilometer 23 of Boulevard Kukulkan when he crashed into the back right side of a large work truck.

The truck, which is the property of Fonatur, was cleaning ridges and grass areas of the hotel zone when the motorcycle happened upon the parked vehicle.

Even though the truck was flagged, the motorcyclist still made contact, hitting the vehicle in the rear right corner. Police say the impact projected him about 15 meters forward, were he died.

Paramedics from a private company arrived along with police. The deceased was identified by friends who have since told the family, however, no public information about the driver of the motorcycle was released.

The body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service.
