Motorcycle driver who hit two pedestrians dies on scene in Cancun Hotel Zone

Cancun, Q.R. — The driver of a motorcycle who injured two pedestrians in the Cancun Hotel Zone ended up deceased after falling off his bike.

The accident happened Saturday around 7:15 p.m. at Kilometer 15 of Kukulcán Boulevard in the Cancun Hotel Zone when two pedestrians, 88-year-old Patricia Poli and 62-year-old Chery Gal were struck by the speeding motorcycle.

Upon impact, the man driving the motorcycle was thrown from his bike and died on scene from head injuries. His female passenger received undetermined injuries and was rushed to hospital. Emergency 911 received the call of the accident. Tourist Police were the first responders, immediately coordinating off the area and covering the deceased.

According to witness reports, the pair on the motorcycle were speeding and upon reaching a curve in the road, the male driver lost control of the bike and skidded. There is no word on the medical condition of the two women who were hit.
