Cancun, Q. R. — A recent job fair in Cancun offered the unemployed more than 600 job options throughout the city.
A Day for Employment was held in Cancun where companies were on site offering jobs that ranged from cleaning and maintenance assistants to cooks, butchers, floor salesmen and sales executives.
The job positions also included lifeguards, security custodians, security chiefs, contract specialists, environmental department chief and a hydraulic coordinator.
According to the State Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare, 15 companies participated in the Cancun job fair who were looking to fill jobs in the tourist, commercial, security and sales areas.
A total of 641 job vacancies were open for applicants. The salaries being offered ranged greatly, from 3,800 peso per month to 23,000 peso per month.
The fair was part of Job Exchange of the State Employment and Training for Work Service program that included positions in Playa del Carmen and Chetumal. Fair organizers say about 300 people showed up.
