Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — More than 10,000 people gathered in Playa del Carmen Sunday to show their support for Cristina Torres who is re-running for mayor of the municipality of Solidaridad.

The candidate from the Por Quintana Roo al Frente alliance held a public campaign closing before a crowd of more than 10,000 Sunday.

“The greatness of the municipality has been forged by the people who inhabit it, that is why those of us who aspire to govern must be equal to his people. We have to deliver. We have to show loyalty, honesty and put ourselves in the place of all of you to make the best decisions,” she said.

Torres thanked the citizens who have opened the doors of their homes, the businessmen, the unions and the militants of other parties who decided to support their project, among them those of Morena, the PRI and the PT.

“We are going to recover security. We will work so that our children can play happily and at peace. On July 1st you must win Solidarity. Families must win, you must win because in this municipality we are good people who walk with our heads up and always, no matter how strong the winds are,” added Cristina Torres.

She said that she will continue working for the municipality with commitment and dedication while continuing to listen to the people adding that she will continue walking until the last minute of the campaign to collect comments and opinions of the citizens.

“Regardless of what you dedicate, Solidaridad is a reflection of those who live here. It is up to us to continue making it an example of national and international development. We will make this municipality great,” she said.
