More marines arrive in the state to help reinforce security

Cancun, Q.R. — The remaining 150 marines expected in the state of Quintana Roo have officially arrived. The large group of men and woman were greeted at the Cancun International Airport Friday by Governor Mara Lezama.

Lezama reported that the 200 total elements that are now in the state will be distributed in the different municipalities to strengthen security. She reported that the arrival of the marines was the result of the efforts made before the Secretary of the Navy (Semar).

During her recent visit to Mexico City and in a meeting with the Secretary of the Navy, Admiral José Rafael Ojeda Durán, the Governor reiterated the commitment that exists to work in a coordinated manner and aligned with the national security strategy, in this framework they agreed on the arrival of 200 elements for the entity.

Governor Mara Lezama stressed that in Quintana Roo, they are working to combat the origins of violence, while at the same time, join efforts with various corporations.
