Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Thunderstorms, rains and strong wind gusts are expected to continue for another 24 hours for the regions along the coast including Cancun and Riviera Maya.
The National Meteorological Service (SMN) says that the approach of a new cold front along the northern border of the country is bringing with it gusts exceeding 60 kilometers per hour in the Isthmus and the Gulf of Tehuantepec regions as well as in the Yucatan Peninsula.
The National Meteorological Service says an area of instability is located in the southwest of the Gulf of Mexico and the southeast of the country and a low pressure channel in the Caribbean Sea.
This mass of cold air is dominating the states of the northeast, east and center of the country, bringing with it gusts of wind surpassing 50 km / hour in the littoral of the Gulf of Mexico including the Yucatan Peninsula. Wind gusts greater than 60 km / hour are being felt in the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec.
Weather for the next 24 hours is expected to consist of strong thunderstorms with wind gusts and heavy rains with an accumulation of between 50 and 75 mm for the regions of south Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tobasco and Quintana Roo.
