Ixtepec, Oaxaca — The Ministry of National Defense has reported the crash of a Mexican military plane in Oaxaca shortly after take off.
The ministry said the crash occurred Tuesday at 3:25 p.m. during a military training flight at military base 2 in Ixtepec, Oaxaca. Although the plane was completely destroyed, the two pilots inside managed to eject before the plane hit the ground.
Their report says the Beechcraft T-6C Mexican Air Force plane was a training plane and crashed inside base grounds. Both crew members were taken to the military hospital where they were reported as stable with minor injuries.
In a statement, the Investigative and Air Accident Examiner and Inspection and Comptroller General commissions of the Army and Air Force say they will continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
