Mexican army seizes 3.5 tons of marijuana in Zacatecas

Tepetongo, Zacatecas — Elements of the Mexican Army, in coordination with state authorities, report the seizure of 3.5 tons of drugs in the state of Zacatecas.

The Ministry of National Defense reports that on August 2, elements of the The Mexican Army, in coordination with state authorities, seized the drugs after a cargo review of a trailer.

The discovery was made on Federal Highway 23 where 358 wrapped packages, which contained marijuana, were found inside a cargo trailer with an approximate weight of 3,575.5 kilograms and an estimated market value of 5,000,000 peso.

The driver was arrested, who, along with the vehicle, were made available to the corresponding authorities.
