Mayor shuts Tulum access to all non-essential traffic

Tulum, Q.R. — After the disclosure of a death in the municipality of Tulum due to coronavirus, municipal mayor Victor Mas Tah says the roadway into the city will be closed to all non-essential travelers.

On Wednesday, the Secretary of Health released updated figures that included the municipality’s first and only death to date. With the release of that news came the release of other news from Mas Tah who says elements from the National Guard, state and municipal authorities have agreed to the partial closure of the coastal area of Tulum.

Mas Tah says only people with urgent business or area residents can enter. He says the new rules apply immediately adding as of Thursday, more active and pending security measures will be implemented in the municipality.
