Man with previous record arrested in shooting death of Cancun businessman

Cancun, Q.R. — One man has been taken into custody by Cancun police after an arrest warrant was issued for his participation in the recent shooting death of a Cancun businessman.

In a press release, la Fiscalía General del Estado says that Lázaro N was arrested by agents of the ministerial police for his relation to the murder of Cancun businessman Roberto Bowden Alonzo, owner of Exotic Rides in Cancún.

They report that their investigation into the murder, which took place outside a Cancun bank, resulted in sufficient evidence to warrant the arrest of Lázaro N.

On February 12, two men who had just left a bank after withdrawing cash were fired upon while inside their car. One of the men, the driver of the vehicle, was killed. His passenger received non-life-threatening injuries and was treated in hospital.

Police say that the detainee, Lázaro N, has previous arrest warrants for drug-related charges as well as a firearm violation after he was found carrying a weapon for the exclusive use of the armed forces. His arrest warrants stem from Tamaulipas and Colima.
