Man shot, killed resisting car robbery in Cancun

Cancun, Q.R. — Investigations into the murder of the driver of a private vehicle in Cancun has revealed that he was shot while attempting to flee. On Wednesday night, a man approached the vehicle in a robbery attempt, however, the driver resisted by trying to U-turn for the opposite direction.

It was during the U-turn attempt that he was shot twice at close range. The drive of the vehicle, identified as 38-year-old Jaime Manuel N, has since died of his injuries.

Reports detail that after leaving a business in SM 510 and walking to his car, he was approached by a man with a gun who was attempting to force him out of his vehicle. Instead of getting out, he tried to U-turn and flee the area.

Two shots were fired at the driver’s side window, both of which, hit the driver inside. Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office continue with their investigation.
