Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A man was pronounced deceased after his motorcycle hit a large tour bus head on.
The accident occurred Monday along the highway near the cruise port town of Mahahual. Reports say that the man, who was a gas station attendant in the town, lost control of his motorcycle and collided head on with a tour bus.
Paramedics arrived to find the motorcycle driver had embedded himself under the bus. Firefighters used metal cutting tools to remove him from under the bus.
Oscar Antonio CP, the 40-year-old bus driver, said he was driving along the the Majahual-Pedro Antonio de los Santos road when he saw the motorcycle suddenly invade his lane.
The driver of the Puerto Costa Maya bus line was not injured. Paramedics said the driver of the motorcycle died instantly.
