Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man who has been identified as an immigration administrative assistant was shot and killed inside the Playa del Carmen immigration building.
The shooting took place on the second floor near the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) office in the Plaza Antigua building. Reports reveal the shooting happened when the victim was approached by two people and shot several times.
Both shooters managed to escape. There have yet to be any reports of arrests, however, police say they do have video surveillance footage. The victim has been identified as Roberto Antonio Pech Martínez.
In July of this year, the deputy director of INM was shot and killed in an underground parking lot near the immigration building. There were no arrests announced in that shooting.
