Man dies after combi collides with back of Cancun garbage truck

Cancun, Q.R. — The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Cancun is investigating the death of a worker from a garbage collection truck after he died from being hit by a city combi.

The accident happened in the Villas Otoch Paraíso subdivision in Region 259 when a city combi hit two workers from a garbage collection truck. One of them died in the General Hospital, while the other continues to be hospitalized.

The incident was reported to Emergency 911 at 2:30 a.m. Saturday where two workers named Natividad and Héctor, were hit by the combi and subsequently transferred to the General Hospital in Cancun. The Transporte Terrestre Estatal (TTE) combi was reportedly being driven by 20-year-old Jesus Rafael N.

Transit police reported that moments after Natividad was admitted, he died in hospital.

Both the driver of the combi and the driver of the garbage truck, 22-year-old Wilber N, were taken to the Public Ministry for the disclaimer of responsibilities.
