An Argentinean native arriving in Cancun from Lima, Peru was pulled over at the baggage check area in Terminal 2 Monday. The Federal Police were called to the scene after a search of the man and his luggage resulted in the discovery of more than $60,000 cash.

The man, identified only as Omar A.A., hid the money in various compartment of his luggage, clothing and on his person. Cash was also found stashed in the sole of his shoes. After a thorough check of his luggage, Federal Police found a total of $41,000 in American money along with $560 Canadian dollars and 2,900 Argentine pesos.

Inside the soles of three pair of shoes, the Federal Police located another $12,000 USD, while on his person they discovered a grey belt where he’d placed $8,200 USD.
