Mahahual firemen rescue drunk man after he falls into crocodile-filled mangrove

Mahahual, Q.R. — Firemen in the community of Mahahual were called for a rescue Wednesday after someone reported a drunk man falling into a crocodile-filled mangrove.

Members of the Mahahual fire brigade suited up in response to an Emergency 911 call from concerned citizens who reported seeing the staggering man fall into the mangrove. The call came in at 12:50 p.m.

After arriving, firemen searched the area and eventually found a male person who they reported to be around 40 years old, lying in the mangrove. They say that although he was unharmed, he was discovered laying in a known crocodile habitat.

Firemen say the man, who was in a state of complete drunkenness, was removed from the crocodile infested green area and taken to a shelter by members of the municipal police until he sobered up.
