Isla Mujeres, Q.R. – Spanish group, Batle, has purchased land in which they intend to build two new hotels at Costa Mujeres on Isla Mujeres.
The company, which is based out of Spain, said that total investments are projected to be around $20 US million and will provide another 1,000 hotel rooms to visitors of the island. The company also noted that during construction, they will generate about 2,000 direct jobs and once the hotels are complete, will generate another 800 permanent positions.
The marketing for the two new hotels are based on luxury travel and those with high purchasing power. Each hotel is anticipated to have several restaurants, three of them exclusive to adults only, as well as bars, two 300-meter pools, Balinese sun beds, exclusive adults-only pools and 24-hour room service.
Batle Group is one of 14 hotel projects planned for the island. The hotel group says they should be ready to begin construction sometime in 2017 as they are still waiting for the release of their permits by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.
Batle already owns nine hotels in Spain, seven of which are under the trade name Mar Hotels, and two of which are Majestic Resorts.
