Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The Director of Public Services says that garbage collection around the island of Isla Mujeres will be guaranteed now that they have received new trucks.
Pablo Moreno Povedano of the City of Isla Mujeres says that the garbage collection service is guaranteed with the operation of the new garbage trucks recently delivered by the state a few days ago.
The Director of Public Services of Isla Mujeres admitted that the issue of garbage collection resulted in a bad image for the island, but says that with these new trucks that were delivered by the governor, they already have a collection route planned.
He explained that the state delivered nine vehicles which will facilitate the collection of garbage distributed in six routes they have already defined. He says there will be varying schedules for waste collection that will include a route at night since many of the restaurants tend to take out their garbage after they close.
He pointed out that since there was no nighttime garbage collection, that garbage remained on the streets until it was collected the next day.
Now with the start of the holiday season, Moreno Povedano explained that they have generated a new route called De Rechequeo where a truck will head out in the evening to remove nighttime garbage.
