Cancun, Q.R. — Mexico’s airline, Interjet, has announced two new direct flights from Mexico City and Cancun to Vancouver.
Starting October 26, travelers can enjoy non-stop flights to and from Vancouver and Mexico City / Cancun on the company’s Airbus A320.
In a statement, Interjet said that separate direct flights from Mexico City and Cancun to Vancouver (and return) will be offered on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
An Airbus A320 aircraft, with a capacity for 150 passengers, will be used to make the non-stop flights. Interjet CEO José Luis Garza said that the company will open routes to this destination, the third for the airline in Canada, “Thanks to the increase in interest in connectivity between the two countries.
“We believe that this beautiful city is a natural step within our coverage in this important market, ” he said.
According to figures from the Communications and Transportation Secretariat for Mexico, passenger flows between Canada and Mexico have increased 21.6 percent between January and July of this year, compared to the same period in 2016.
