Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Dozens of police were sent to a large property in west Playa del Carmen to seize the land and remove those living on it.
For nearly five hours, approximately 80 Ministerial Police agents remained on a large parcel of land in west central Playa del Carmen to ensure the property and remove its squatters. The land was allegedly claimed several years ago by a family member of the state’s former governor, Roberto Borge Angulo. The State Attorney General intervened to reclaim the land being illegally invaded.
Three brick homes had been set up. All three were dismantled after the squatters were removed. Police report no arrests.
