Cancún, Q.R. — Six more flights have been canceled from Houston to Cancun and two to Cozumel as Harvey continues to batter the region.
On Tuesday, Eduardo Rivadeneyra of the Cancun International Airport confirmed six more flight cancellations from two Houston, Texas airports to Cancun. Of the canceled flights two were from Southwest departing at William P. Hobby Airport and three from United Airlines departing from George Bush Intercontinental Airport. A flight from Spirit Airlines was also canceled from departing George W. Bush Airport.
The two Houston airports remain closed after Hurricane Harvey struck, resulting in weather and flooded runways. The latest six cancellations Tuesday add to the 22 that have been canceled since the weekend.
Two flights from Texas have also been canceled for Cozumel. International Airport of Cozumel administrator Juan Pablo García-Luna Gutierrez says that the canceled flights were United Airlines from Houston, adding it is not known yet if more flights will be canceled.
