Cancun, Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Cold Front No. 36 will arrive in the region bringing cool temperatures and rain to Cancun and Riviera Maya for Tuesday and Wednesday.
The cold front, says Adrián Martínez Ortega the general director of the State Coordination of Civil Protection, will arrive along the Yucatan Peninsula Tuesday morning and quickly move to the southeast.
The Sistema Meteorológico Nacional reports stationary Front No 36 is located on the northeast portion of the country moving rapidly to the southeast. As it moves, it is causing a drop in nighttime temperatures, brisk wind and rains over its area of influence.
They say the front will quickly travel through the Gulf of Mexico, gradually beginning to influence the Peninsular region and the State of Quintana Roo during Tuesday and Wednesday.
For the two-day period during the passing of the front, the Cancun, Riviera Maya region can expect northwest winds from 25 to 35 kms/h with very hot daytime temperatures of between 34 to 36 C degrees and nighttime temperatures of between 17 to 19 C degrees.
