Cancun, Q. R. — A Cancun man died instantly when his vehicle collided with a metal pole early Sunday morning.
Cancun police say that a man driving a car at excessive speed died instantly when his car hit the base of a metal traffic pole at the entrance of Alfredo V. Bonfil.
The accident occurred around dawn Sunday morning in the city near the entrance to Bonfil. Emergency 911 responded to the call, sending police and medical personnel to the scene.
When they arrived, they found the body of a man who had been thrown from the vehicle by the excessive impact, noting that the vehicle was nearly split into two.
They taped the area to conduct their investigation. Transit staff moved in to collect information. It was reported that the man was driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Forensic Medical Service arrived to remove the body. The identity and age of the man remains unknown.
