Tulum, Q.R. — The home of a police commander was hit with bullets in Tulum Tuesday after assailants attempted to shoot him.
A police commander became the victim of an attempted shooting at his home in the Guerra de Castas division of Tulum where two gunmen opened fire. Fabián H., police commander and former Operational Director of Public Security, was not injured, however, reports say his wife was wounded in the attack.
According to witnesses, the subjects were armed and after the shooting, fled on a motorcycle.
Paramedics and police arrived at the home. The grounds of the residential area were searched, but no arrests were made.
His wife was transferred to hospital in Playa del Carmen.
