A two-car crash involving a Yucatan vehicle and one from Belize has left four injured. The crash happened in the vicinity of the new customs area of Subteniente López near the Belize border.
Police report that the two vehicles hit head-on, injuring four people. The accident took place around 1:00 p.m. when the oncoming car invaded the lane of the oncoming SUV. The head-on crash left one person unconscious and trapped inside the SUV. Police say the trapped woman had to be cut out of her vehicle.
They also added that the other three people involved in the crash did not suffer life-threatening in injuries.
Police, ambulances and nearby firemen rushed to the scene in response to the 911 emergency call. When they arrived, they found a Honda car with Yucatan plates had collided with a Belize-plated SUV.
Both vehicles suffered extensive damage.
