Governor says officials will donate part of salaries to create food fund for those in need

Chetumal, Q.R. — Quintana Roo Governor Carlos Joaquín has announced that all secretaries and general directors will contribute part of their salaries to create a food aid fund to help families in the state.

The Governor of Quintana Roo presented the plan Together We Will Come Forward to confront the coronavirus.

“At @GobQuintanaRoo, all the Secretaries and General Directors will be contributing part of our salaries to make a food aid fund that helps and supports the families of our state. I appreciate the will of all to achieve it. #TogetherWe’ll Go Forward”

On social networks, Carlos Joaquín thanked everyone for their willingness to contribute to the fund. The first stage, he said, involves saving human lives and the second includes supporting families in periods of health and economic crisis.

He said that executives of Quintana Roo and employees of the State Government will show solidarity with their workers at this difficult time. “It is up to all of us to support the development of our land and watch and think of others,” said the governor.
