GM suspends operations at San Luis Potosi plant

San Luis Potosí, Mexico — General Motors de México says it has suspended operations due to coronavirus. Beginning immediately, the automaker will suspend operations for two weeks at its plant in San Luis Potosí as a measure against the spread of the coronavirus.

The suspension is in line with General Motors’ announcement to systematically and orderly halt its manufacturing operations in North America due to market conditions and to thoroughly clean facilities and continue to protect people from the coronavirus.

The General Motors plant in San Luis Potosi has about 6,300 workers in addition to 4,000 business partners.
