Glee actor Mark Salling found dead weeks before sentencing

Glee actor Mark Salling has died at the age of 35. The actor has reportedly died by hanging. The coroner’s office said his death was suicide.

Los Angeles police responded to a death investigation around 8:50 a.m. Tuesday. Upon discovering the body, police said “there was no foul play”. The Los Angeles coroner’s office was called. Mr. Salling was produced dead at 9:00 a.m.

The 35-year-old former Glee star was weeks away from being sentenced after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor. Salling, who played Noah Puckerman on the hit television show from 2009 until 2015, struck a plea deal in December.

Salling was due to be sentenced in March, where he was expected to receive a prison sentence of between four and seven years.

In a statement, his attorney Michael Proctor confirmed Salling’s death saying, “I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early this morning. Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment.”

Salling is survived by his mother, father and brother.
