Cancun, Q.R. — A man from Atlanta has been arrested at the Cancun International Airport when found trying to enter the country with a firearm.
The American man, who is from Atlanta, Georgia, was arrested in Terminal 4 of the Cancun airport when federal police discovered a .40 S&W Semi Auto Pistol and magazine with 13 cartridges.
Photo: Policía Federal MxAuthorities were performing a routine luggage inspection when the gun was found. The man was taken into custody and placed before the Public Ministry.
It is illegal to bring firearms into Mexico without a specialized, government-issued permit.
